Success Story of the ACF Project In Our School GGHS Latifabad Unit No-06

I, Fouzia Liaquat, working as a Junior Clerk for Government Girls High School, Latifabad Unit No-06 our school is the biggest school of Taluka Latifabad Hyderabad Sindh, The Head Mistress of this school Respected Madam “Fahmida Jumani” she is sincere, committed and obliging with staff.

On 22nd July 2019 the Project Manager of “Action Against Hunger” (ACF), NGO Dr. Khalid Hussain Laghari Organized an Activity regarding “Food & Nutrition” in the four schools of Hyderabad with collaboration of worthy “District Education Officer” (Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary), Hyderabad and The “Deputy Commissioner”, Hyderabad.



The Action Against Hunger (ACF) an International Humanitarian Organization is fighting against hunger in the world. Its mission is to save lives, eradicating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, in particular during and after emergencies caused by conflict sand natural disasters.



In line with the Action Against Hunger (ACF) Pakistan mission objective of changing the way the hunger is viewed and tackled, a Project “Adolescent Girls Nutrition Champion” currently being implemented in 4 schools of Hyderabad city that will see adolescent girls as key factor against fighting malnutrition by identifying and showcasing girl champion in nutrition.

“It Is A Big Honor to Our School For Nominated In this Program”.



First of all the Project Manager of ACF Mr. Dr. Khalid Hussain Laghari and its team create a Parents Teachers Committee in this school for made a successful program.



In Parents Teachers Committee they select the Head Mistress of this school as a Chairperson of this committee and nominate me as focal person it is a great honor to me for working in this project as a focal person. I myself facilitate to project team in this program we make a group of Six teachers for helping the students to make their work easily.



The Action Against Hunger (ACF) start the two events in this project:

1. Drawing Portrait Competition (Theme Food & Nutrition)

2. Health & Nutrition with Cooking Demonstration.

a. Drawing Portrait Competition:



For this Competition they select one student from each class i.e. 6th to 10th means they selected total 5 students. In this event they gave a task to every student who participate in the Drawing & Art and tell her to make a drawing by which showing values of Food & Nutrition.



The Poster Competition was held on World Food Day on 16th October 2019 at the Government Girls High School Mira Hirabad Hyderabad.



In this Competition five students of our school displayed their Drawing Portrait for Competition with me and our Drawing Teacher.



All the four schools of Hyderabad also participate in this competition with their staff and Drawing Portrait.



In this program Our Honorable DEO, Deputy Director, Health & Nutrition Doctors of LUMHS, ACF Organization teams and Head Mistress, focal person, Drawing Teachers and Committee Member of all nominated school was present there.



One by one all the students gave their presentation regarding her hand made portrait the judges and viewers asked the related Questions with participants about their theme of drawing.

The delegates of this program gave the awareness to participants and viewers on the Food and Nutrition. In the last the host of program finalize the Names of participants who took the top in portrait from all four schools of Hyderabad.



Finally the award, prize & certificate ceremony of Drawing Portrait Competition was held. The participants of Class 6th Komal Rafique & Class 8th Aniqa Babbar got 1st Position in Best Theme Presentation & Drawing. The participant of Class 7th Rimsha got 2nd Position and the 3rd Position got Mahanoor Aslam of Class 10th. The ACF Team distributes the Certificate and Cash Prize among the position holders.



It is an honor for our school and Our Drawing Teacher that our school got the Four Positions in this competition. We are very Thank to Almighty Allah Pak and ACF for this occasion.

Now, the ACF is working on the Health & Nutrition In Sha Allah our school will get the Positions again. The story of Health & Nutrition I will write in the next part.
